Each Tuesday night, we meet here in our home with a very international group of residents in Kampala for Bible study. There are three Ugandans, two South Koreans, a man from an undisclosed location (he’s here under asylum), a Sudanese woman, an Australian-American, and me. There is also a woman from Ethiopia that comes sometimes, and we had a new woman from Eritrea come last night.
The Bible study itself is not full of in-depth discussions of the Word because a few of the people still struggle with English; however, I am moved each week by the commitment to all of these people. It’s so powerful to hear people from other tribes, tongues, and nations share in the Gospel and strive to be more Christ-like in their lives. It is also a beautiful thing to pray with people from so many different places, and to be able to share in their triumphs and disappointments each week.
