This week, Peter Swann, Aid Sudan’s Executive Director, flew from Houston to visit the Kampala team.  We were incredibly blessed by his visit, and we enjoyed some really great fellowship as a team.

I am learning that it can sometimes be nearly impossible to have productive days in Africa…random and unexpected things happen that halt any plans…but our week with Peter was incredibly productive! We showed Peter the recording studio, the lessons that we had been writing, and the process by which we are getting the radio programming put together.  The whole radio project is very labor-intensive, and though I joke a lot about the laid-back lifestyle that we live here in Uganda, there is a lot of work that we have accomplished and that still needs to be done.  I can’t speak for Peter, but for me it was an incredible blessing to have him read through my lessons and give me an idea of whether or not I was on track.  We also met with some big donors and enjoyed many good meals as a team.

Peter and I also had a chance to sit down and really talk about numerous things.  We discussed Sudan, we discussed our visions for the educational side of Aid Sudan, and we discussed the hard things and the awesome things about living in Africa.  Our conversation answered many prayers and affirmed several things that I had been feeling pretty much since last July when I first hopped off of the plane in Nasir…it was so good!
