Everywhere I have ever lived (which I can count on one hand) I have always had my very favorite pizza place…it’s a requirement! When I lived with my parents, it was Wabash Pizza; when Blaise and I lived downtown Indy, it was Papa Johns; when Blaise and I lived in Castleton, it was Pizza Hut; and in Danville it’s Dave’s All-American Pizzeria.  In Kampala, it’s definitely Caffe Roma!

I first went to Caffe Roma with the Tonj team the night we came out of Sudan…it was SO yummy, but I was so tired that I nearly fell asleep in my pizza pie. Kerrie and I have since gone back, and though I have had pizza at other restaurants in Kampala, nothing beats Caffe Roma!

One night when we went, the maitre d’ and I had the following exchange…
Maitre d’: How many?
Me: Just the two of us.
Maitre d’: [singing] Just the two of us, we can make it if we try
Me: [Laughing too hard to talk!]

LOVE IT!!

I can totally see this little pizzeria being Blaise and I’s date spot should we ever move here!
