We have been incredibly busy lately. Or at least life has seemed hectic because even in our “down time” we are constantly thinking, planning, and organizing our lives. It’s always a tremendous struggle to keep God at the core of everything we do when we are all over the place, and as much as I wish that it would, I know that won’t change once we hit the mission field either. So, finding balance is yet another thing we can add to the “pre-field preparation” list!
Anyway, just so you know we’re still alive, here are some things we have been up to lately…
- Working: Well, I (Cass) have been working while Blaise’s job right now is simply–and importantly–to get better. I LOVE my job, but it pretty much sucks every ounce of energy I can muster in a day, and I usually cannot leave it “at the office.” Teaching is a job that takes far more than 40 hours a week, because 70 minutes a day (prep hour) is not enough time to lesson plan, grade papers, write IEPs, and catch up on incessant emails!
- Drawing up contracts, researching power of attorney stuff, setting up accounts, and making plans to rent out our house (more on that to come).
- Planning and praying about another trip to Uganda/South Sudan this summer to write new teacher training programming for the radio.
- Deputation: I wish I could say that this has taken up a huge portion of our time, but the truth is that this has quickly been bumped from the “to do” list with all of Blaise’s stuff. However, I did have a couple speaking engagements over the last month, and from those we have had a couple more donors jump on board! I LOVE that God keeps showing off and affirming our commitment!
