I am living here at the Livingstons’ house while they are in the States for furlough, and it is a very nice house with a great compound.  I really love it here because it is quiet (save for the mosque’s calls to prayer and the ibises screeching), the streets are nice, and the view is not bad, either (especially from atop the garage).

The thing about living in such a beautiful compound is that it really isn’t reality.  I mean, it is absolutely great, but majority of the people here live in shacks so dilapidated that I would happily live in a mud hut over one of them.  I was told by Grace, a Ugandan man, that we are living in a mzungu-type house.  We are rich, therefore, we can live here.  [Insert the sound of my heart breaking.]
