let's be social!
Yesterday Blaise and I had our BIG anomaly (mid-pregnancy) ultrasound in which we were also able to find out the gender. We didn’t actually decide for sure that we were going to find out the gender until about a month ago. Until then, we thought it would be a lot of fun to be surprised, but some of our family members seemed just a tiny bit disappointed by that idea (they didn’t say it, we could just hear it in their voices) and we decided that since we couldn’t be there with them for the pregnancy, we should include them in as much of it as possible. We knew that family and friends would love to buy gender-specific gifts (we know because they told us again and again) and we wanted to give people that opportunity.
Once we decided that we would find out, waiting seemed difficult. We were so excited to find out! But then we got to where we knew we didn’t have a preference of whether we wanted a boy or girl more, and mostly we just wanted to know that the baby was healthy and growing properly.
As Alice performed the ultrasound, we carefully watched as she measured the head and brain, took pictures of the beautiful, four-chambered heart, measured bones, analyzed the spine, etc. We asked questions as she went and she explained what she was seeing. After about 45 minutes of checking everything carefully, she asked if we had any more questions. We were like, “Oh yeah, can you tell if it’s a boy or girl?”
I will tell you that we walked out of that room BEAMING!
After we got home from the appointment, we decided to build some suspense for our families and friends on Facebook before we revealed the gender. Our soon-to-be teammates stopped by, so we had them snap a couple of pictures of us to help with the surprise.
Along with this picture, we posted: Is Baby Ginter a boy or girl? We know…do you?
Yes, we did it on purpose…Blaise in pink and me in blue! We had 13 votes for GIRL, 16 votes for BOY, and 2 votes for TWINS.
Well, in case you don’t already know, it’s a…

BOY!!!!!!!!
Baby Ginter is a sweet baby boy! We have been asked by almost everyone, but we do not have a name picked out yet. We had a list of both boy and girl names, and now that we know for sure, we are going to start slowly narrowing down the boy list until we decide on the perfect name for Little Man.
Stay tuned!
