We have a short-term mission team here right now and someone dubbed our house the Ginter Cottage, and we liked it so much that it stuck!

So, about a week into our time here we finally got all of our furniture in our house and set up.  Man, that was a game changer! It is still definitely a work in progress, as there is SO MUCH that needs to be done to the house; however, with each new improvement we love the house even more and feel really at home here.  If you want to see what it looked like the day we arrived, look at those pictures HERE.

Here’s the first update.

We HUNG CURTAINS! Even with the walls not painted, having curtains up made a HUGE difference!! Here’s the living room…

I’m standing in the living room looking at the dining room…

From the dining room looking back into the kitchen.  Our house didn’t come with countertops so at first we used the table, but then Blaise built me an awesome kitchen work bench! The trunks are still serving as our “pantry,” until we get some kind of shelves.

I don’t have enough space to sacrifice for the cookstove, so we are still cooking on the floor…but it makes it easy to see what I’m doing!

Here’s our bathroom with the addition of a rustic towel rack, mirror, and shower curtain liner…

I’m SO thankful that I bought this IKEA mirror before we came out, and I’m so thankful that I married a man who knows how to use tools!

This is our bathroom “vanity” for now, and it works quite nicely! This room was originally going to be our office, and maybe it will eventually, but for now it’s the catch-all room…

And here’s our bedroom.  I’ve put the most time and effort into this room because I knew how important it would be to have a true place of rest and refuge in our house, and it has been exactly that!

I’m really excited about revealing Phase Two of our house updates!
