So the big running joke has been about how hot it is actually going to be in Sudan. I’ve even antagonized many people by complaining about the heat in Indiana. The fact is, there are only two seasons in Sudan: hot and dry and hot and wet. It is currently the rainy season in Sudan, so we will be experiencing the hot/wet side. Surprisingly, however, the rain does cool it off quite a bit and the temperatures will be nowhere near what I first expected. Here in Central Indiana we’ve been having quite the hot spell with temps near or above 90 degrees on most days. In Southern Sudan, the weather has been really comparable to here, with temps in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Not bad.

If you are interested in following the weather like I have been, you can follow Malakal, Sudan on The Weather Channel. We will be in Nasir, but it is actually really near Malakal and it will give you an idea about the weather conditions while I’m gone.

Nighty night!
